History students visit Ferrycarraig

C1 along with Mr Sterling and Miss McCourt visited the heritage centre in Ferrycarraig during October. The centre deals with Irish history from the Stone Age right up Early Christainity. The students were shown a short video and then had a guide who brought them through the ages.

The students got to experience a Fulacht Fia, which is an ancient cooking method and they got to taste the food prepared, in this case a ham joint.

It was a great day and the boys seemed to enjoy it. We expect that the experience will help with their preparations for the Junior Certificate exams.
