Anniversary Production 2017 “OLIVER”

Coláiste Éanna are proud to announce that this year’s school production is the ever popular musical “OLIVER”. This show was originally staged by the students in 1976 and as we celebrate our 50th Anniversary this year, we thought it would be a fitting tribute to the history of the school to perform it once again.

The cast this year has students from 1st to 6th year with the title roles going to Colm Aherne as Oliver, Matthew Burke as the Artful Dodger, Eoin Daly as Fagin, Kelvyn Fields as Mr Bumble, Robert Walsh as Mr Sowerberry and Eoin Bradley as Bill Sykes. The girls from Sancta Maria join us once again, with Sammy Copley as Nancy, Grace Manning as Widow Corney and Michaela Kavanagh as Mrs Sowerberry.

The show will be performed in the Br Donovan Hall from Wednesday 29th November to Saturday 2nd December, nightly at 7.30pm. Tickets are €15 Adult, €10 Student and €40 Family (2 & 2) & are now on sale from the school office.

As ever the show is a whole school production under the guidance of show producer Ms McDonnell. Transition Year students are assisting Caretaker Dave Grant to make the fantastic set, Ms Hogan & Mr McGrane are working with 5th year students on set painting and graphics. Daragh Graham designed the excellent graphic that we are using as the show icon. Once again our music students will be an integral part of the show under the watchful baton of Mr Quinn. Transition Year students are also responsible for marketing and ticket sales, they have been busy calling to local schools and businesses putting up posters and seeking sponsorship. We will be back soon with a further up-date on the show!!
