The 1st year soccer team took part in the South Dublin Futsal Competition in Spawell on Wednesday 18th October. The boys faced tough opposition in the form of St MacDara’s, St Aidan’s and Stratford College. After an opening defeat to Aidan’s, Éanna won their next two games to set up a round robin penalty shootout to decide the tournament.
Great praise has to go to Pharrell Manuel, Bobby Pakenham and Rory O’Mahony for stepping up and scoring to put Éanna through to the Dublin finals. Jack Ryan also did exceptionally well in goal, saving 3 penalties. Éanna go through to the Dublin finals after mid-term, well done to all involved. Thanks also to Mr O’Reilly for his coaching and commitment to the players.
