01 May All Ireland Business Studies Quiz 2014

25 teams of 3^rd year students gathered at L.I.T. Thurles yesterday for the 3^rd annual All Ireland Business Studies Quiz hosted by the BSTAI.

Coláiste Éanna was represented by 2 teams of 4 students, both of which had qualified for this competition in the Dublin regional qualifiers before Christmas. We were 1 of only 2 schools that managed to have 2 teams in the national final this year.

After 5 rounds of questions, both Coláiste Éanna teams were in joint 1^st position. After the final 5 rounds, one of our teams finished in joint 1^st position with 2 other teams, and our other team finished in 4^th place.

What followed was a sudden death playoff. After the 2^nd question, Holy Faith, Clontarf were eliminated and finished in 3^rd place. It took another 5 questions to separate the final 2 teams but the Coláiste Éanna team finished in 2^nd place behind winners, St. Kieran’s of Kilkenny.

Having 2 teams in the top 4 positions was an amazing achievement and congratulations go to the teams: Niall Donohoe, Eoghan Monahan, Nadeem Naber and Cian Stenson who finished in 4^th place, and to the team of Tom Giblin, Eoin Stokes, Conor Wolfe and Matthew Wilson who finished as national runners-up.
